During its initial planning process, advice was sought from a UK Educational Consultant, Mr. Peter Gray Scopes, who was previously an Educational Adviser with the Overseas Development Administration of UK. Mr. Scopes was involved in all the preliminary tests and subsequent interviews for the selection of teaching staff. He also conducted a preliminary course covering a child-centred activity based approach, the stages in the teaching of measurement and a balanced curriculum.
In 1998, Ms. P.M. Read, a renowned British Educationist joined as the Principal. Her significant contribution in training the teachers and structuring the curriculum of the School played a constructive role for the development of the school at the formative period.
In 2004, with a view to expanding the activities of the School and attracting the new investment from competent investors, a limited company was formed, namely, CIDER Education Services Limited (CESL) under the company act-1994.
The School strives ceaselessly to create competent and loyal citizens for the country and proudly upholds its founders’ commitment to excellence in every sphere, with an emphasis on the motto Excellence is the highest goal of human endeavour.
One of the prestigious English medium schools in Bangladesh, CIDER International School administers its academic endeavours in its own campus on 4 acres of land including extensively wide playgrounds in the lap of natural splendour. The School is co-educational, with more than 1,000 students on its rolls for Junior School (Nursery to Class V, Inquiry Based Learning System), Cambridge (VI to A Level) and National Curriculum (V to XII) together.
The School is affiliated to the University of Cambridge International Examinations, the largest educational Board in the world, to facilitate education commensurate to international standards and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong, Bangladesh to endorse National Curriculum in its stream.
The School fosters the rich cultural heritage of the nation and attempts to imbibe a sense of nationality and patriotism in students. We firmly believe that the aim of studying in an English medium school is to gain knowledge commensurate to global standards, but not to be dubbed in Western culture and lose respect for our national identity.
We feel proud of the educational opportunities we provide, and invite you to find out what the School offers you.
