Effective Professional Development enables educators to develop the knowledge and skills they need to address students’ learning challenges. It also includes a sharp insistence on establishing the link between student achievement and school improvement strategies. To give priority to this thought, CIDER International School (NC Senior Section) organized a subject-wise ‘Teachers’ Training session’ on 23rd of Nov. 2019 in NC Block. The session was conducted by the Master Trainers from Chittagong Collegiate School named Mr. Nurul Amin (As. Teacher, Bus. Studies), Mr. Jafar Ahamed (Senior teacher, Mathematics), Ms. Ferdous Ara (As. Teacher, Bangla), Ms. Jasmin Ara (As. Teacher, BGS), Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman (Senior Teacher, Science) in reference of Mr. Shahed Mahmood (Senior Teacher, English). The following goals are achieved through various discussions during the training session.
- To apply different and innovative classroom management techniques
- To use cooperative teaching and learning method
- To follow the most recent educational technology
- To set high expectations for student achievement
- To plan instructional strategies.
- To apply higher order thinking skills
- To have a clear idea on Creative part and MCQ
- To focus on updated structure of mathematics
- To make a standard Question format
- To have a correct and updated evaluation or assessment.
- To follow recent Mark distribution format etc.
As the training session was very much specific on different subjects, so teachers’ were much benefited to meet their several quarries and will also be able to enhance their professional development by applying many innovative ideas and techniques. Undoubtedly it was a very fruitful session.
