CIDER International School held a comprehensive “Road Safety Week” for its Pre-Primary section on October 22nd, aiming to instill crucial road safety skills in young learners from NC, Play Group to KG. The event was designed to engage students through interactive outdoor activities, providing them with real-world knowledge about traffic rules and safe road-crossing techniques.
Children actively participated in practical exercises, which allowed them to understand the importance of adhering to traffic signals and pedestrian guidelines. Through hands-on learning, they practiced safe crossing at various simulated road environments, reinforcing the significance of patience and caution while navigating busy streets.
One of the event’s standout moments was the cycle ride, where students showcased their grasp of road safety principles. In a carefully set-up traffic simulation, they practiced crossing roads while observing signals and respecting the authority of the traffic warden. The warden educated them on parking regulations, underscoring the importance of avoiding restricted zones, such as “No Parking” areas, and highlighted the broader implications of these rules in ensuring community safety.
The event was well-organised with different time slots allocated to each group. KG and Play Group students participated from 9:00 am to 9:30 am, Nursery from 9:40 am to 10:00 am. Overall, the event successfully educated the young students about road safety in a fun and interactive way.
By the end of the event, students left with a deeper understanding of road safety, a vital skill set that will protect them in their daily lives.
