Being inspired by the above ideology, Cider International School, National Curriculum (Senior Section), Religion Dept. had taken the initiative to organize first ever Religion Week – 2017 . The event was held on 7th of August, 2017 at Lion Mukhlesur Rahman Hall. Ms. Farhana Hossain, Lecturer of Islamic History & Culture, Chittagong Govt. Women College, Dr. Jinabodhi Mahathero ,Principal of Nabapandit Buddha Bihar, Srimat Swami Shaktinathananda Maharaj , Secretary of Ramakrishna ashram Chittagong, Rev. Father Terence Rodrigues ,Parish Priest of Cathedral Parish Chittagong were present as chief guests from different religions and as guest of honor Chairman Mr. Nader Khan also graced the event with his valuable presence. Along with them honorable Principal, Vice Principals, Co-ordinators, Heads of several departments and the teachers were also present during the event to motivate the Ciderians.
The programme started with the recitation from the holy Quran, the holy Gita, the holy Tripitak and the holy Bible. An Islamic Song was also sung by the students of Class V. After that the religious leaders were invited one by one to share their knowledge and ideas about the aspects of humanity in the light of different religions. They presented their views which helped our young learners to know about the essence, humanity, equality, morality and mutual harmony of every religion.
This was followed by the valuable speeches of the Chairman Sir and the Principal Sir which encouraged the entire Religion dept. The programme ended through the vote of thanks given by Ms. Nafisa , Head of Religion Dept.
This being one of the most awaited events of the Religion Department left a hope to organize such a week in near future with innovative thoughts and ideas.
