The National Curriculum (Senior Section) organized PTM for half-yearly examinations (VI–IX) and Pre-tests (X) on June 15, 2023, in respective classrooms. It was a three-way conference (Teacher-parent-Student) to identify individual student’s areas of strength and areas of improvement. The PTM was more effective and informative, especially for grades VI and VII, as their evaluation was completed as per the requirements of the new curriculum. In a separate meeting setting, parents of those afore-mentioned grades were clarified about the new evaluation methodology.
This time, students of VI and VII received a bunch of evaluation supplementary sheets where their performance level was indicated with subject-wise details and their status was set with three symbols: square (for beginners), circle (for mediocre), and triangle (for expert). A Target was also set for the student’s further improvement and to rectify their mistakes and errors. On top of these, grades VIII–X students’ evaluation is done according to existing procedures. Besides these, answer scripts have been shown, and Progress Report Cards have been distributed to the parents. It’s a beneficial and praiseworthy effort initiated by NC to make the parents concerned and cooperative regarding their ward’s studies. On top of these students’ regular attendance to school, it is highlighted in the PTM and also announced that without a minimum of 90 percent attendance; admit cards for the SSC Examination will not be released.
Through this conference, students are getting constructive criticism from the teacher. Moreover, they are getting an opportunity to fulfil their target. So it’s really a wonderful and successful meeting among teacher, student, and parents.
