Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ,widely known as Bangabandhu, is the undisputed and visionary leader of our glorious Liberation War. He is also our Father of the Nation.
We lost him on 15th of August, 1975 by some deviated army personals . CIDER International School NC-Senior section observed this Mourning Day with due solemnity. An one hour program was organized by the department of Bangladesh & Global Studies of NC Senior. On 15thof August , 2017 the program was started with a short documentary film on his life, work, political strives etc. along with a song at the end of it. The program was hosted by Radwa Munir of class –IX. (Cultural Captain of the Dragon house). Fayha Munir (cl-VII) presented her nicely written and drawn chart papers on the life of Bangabandhu. Atifa Nawar from class- VII also recited a poem on” Bangabandhu”. This program was ended with the National Anthem of Bangladesh .
The main program of National Mourning Day was held on 16th of August 2017. On this day, two special honorable guests were invited to cherish the programme with their valuable presence. One of the special guests was Mr.Nurul Alom Montu (honorable Freedom Fighter Sector—1,1971 Liberation War). He took his training from India (Telengue). Another guest was Mr. Shakhawat Hossain Maznu. (Senior Columnist and researcher of Dainik Azadi). They delivered inspirational speeches and shared their best experiences of the Liberation War with the students and teachers. Mr.Maznu emphasized on the glorious part of Chittagong in the history of our Liberation War. He mentioned the names of Mr. M.A Aziz, Johur Ahmed Chy, Dr. Nurun Nahar Johur, M.A Hannan etc in his speech. We also stood for two minutes in silence as a tribute to our freedom fighter.
Mr. Gyanesh Chandra Tripathi ,the respected Principal , In his speech, he emphasized to know our own leaders before we proceed to the other leaders of the world . It is our first duty and responsibility.
Besides, Mr. Shakahawat also published a Column in the daily Dainik Azadi (21st of August ,2017) about the program mentioning that how CIDER International School was selecting it’s Student Leader election in an well disciplined manner and which should be followed by the other schools.
