“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson

The school playground came alive with excitement, energy, and enthusiasm as CIDER International School hosted its much-awaited School Cricket Tournament for the NC Primary students. Held on the 26th and 27th of April 2025, this event was a shining example of how sports play a vital role in the all-round development of students — building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership.

Four houses from NC & CC— Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix, and Unicorn — participated in a total of six matches on the first day, followed by the grand finale on the second day. Each match was packed with action, spirit and outstanding individual performances.

The final match, held on 27th April,2025 was a thrilling contest between Griffin and Phoenix. Before the game began, the players were introduced to our esteemed guests: The Honourable Principal Miss Neeti Tripathi, The Academic Coordinator Miss Amrin Husain and The Assistant Academic Coordinator Miss Fahmida Haider. Their presence greatly inspired the young cricketers to give their best.

Both the teams showcased a remarkable sportsmanship and skills in the final. Ultimately, Griffin House emerged as the Champion while Phoenix House was declared as the Runner-Up.

During the prize distribution ceremony, The Principal Ma’am awarded medals to all the participating players. Special recognitions included:

Man of the Match: Labib Raiyan, Captain of Griffin House for his stunning 34-run performance.

Man of the Tournament: Mufaddal Murtaza Ali from Phoenix House for his brilliant 196 runs and two wickets.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Miss Amrin Husain, who appreciated the hard work of the players, the dedication of the Games Department and the support of all the teachers who helped make this tournament a grand success.

The tournament not only celebrated cricket but also nurtured the seeds of leadership, camaraderie and healthy competition in our young learners. It will be remembered as a vibrant chapter in the journey of NC Primary’s spirited students.
