August is the month of misery, the deepest mourning in our national life. On 15 August 1975, the beloved leader of the Bengalis, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his wife and most of the member of family were brutally killed by the murderous clique. No matter how barbaric and brutal they were, they did not even let the baby Russell live. keeping all these in mind, On the occasion of National Mourning Day and 45th Martyrdom Anniversary on 15 August 2020, the Bengali Department of the National Curriculum Senior section of CIDER International School organized an essay competition titled ‘Amar Mujib’. The main objective of this essay competition is to pay love and respect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the best Bengali of the millennium, the father of the nation. Historical events like Bangabandhu’s birth identity, family, educational life, revolutionary political life, leadership in language movement, six points of Bengali liberation certificate, speech on March 7, inspiring leadership in liberation war, Bangabandhu’s state management etc. have been reverently published in the students’ writings. Condolences to Bangabandhu and his family who were martyred in the scandalous incident of August 15 and hatred towards the people responsible for that incident are evident in the writings of the students. Their writings show that Bangabandhu is not just a person, but the name of a great ideology. The whole country was inspired by that ideal.
