On 17th November (Sunday), 2024 English DEAR Day ( Drop Everything and Read) was held in NC Primary, students from grades 1 to 5 brought their story books that they’ve already read and filled out a reflection sheet based on their experience of reading the book.
From grade 1 the winners were, Ruknin shadid, Alvina Hasan and Rabeeba Rahman. From grade 2 the winners were, Sharaful Wasi and Somanyu Das.
From grade 3 the winners were, Nujhat Monir Nidhi, Israt Tasnim Zarah, Safiy Al Din Solaiman Howlader Rakin, Ayaan Ferdous, Azwaad Bin Rashed and Junainah Fariyat Kabir.
From grade 4 the winners were, Aradhya Mondal, Al Wasi Uddin, Abrar Nobaid, Madih Ahbab and Fidayan Wafiq.
From grade 5 the winners were, Jarif Hossain, Olinee Khan Aydin, and Zarif Arham Kabir.
DEAR Day helped to improve literacy levels by encouraging regular reading habits among all the primary level students. While challenges exist, the positive impact on literacy, focus, and a sense of community makes DEAR Day an event worth celebrating annually.
