On the beautiful day of 7th October 2024, we, the students of classes VI, VII, and VIII, had a beautiful and adventurous trip to Foy’s Lake Base Camp. All students reported to school by 7.55 am, and after clicking some pictures at the school with our honorable executive director and principal, including our respective teachers, we started for the trip by bus around 9 am. We reached our destination by 9.30 am, and we were welcomed very gracefully by the Base Camp members. After entering the base camp, everyone was eventually very mesmerized by the beauty and cleanliness of the place. We took some rest inside the Lake View restaurant, where they also served us some snacks for breakfast. After getting some refreshment, we started our activities. The trainers had directed us before we started. We were divided into 4 teams with a team leader. Each team was named after the house names of the team leaders. We did 6 activities. They were:

  • Giant Swing
  • Zipline
  • On-Ground Obstacle Course
  • Archery
  • Treetop Adventure
  • Kayaking

We started our activities at 11 am and finished 3 of them by 1 pm and went for lunch and some refreshment. After having lunch, we again started for our other leftover activities by 3 pm. All the activities were very adventurous, especially the giant swing, zipline, and treetop adventure. By getting everyone’s opinion, I got to know that many of the students were kind of scared while doing those adventurous activities. But after doing those activities with some confidence, they enjoyed themselves a lot. Now let’s tell the experiences of the activities, particularly. While doing the giant swing, we all felt like a free bird flying in the open sky in a high place. It felt like we were just like kids swinging in the swing, but this was just a giant one with a different feeling and experience. During the zipline, it gave a belly-dropping feeling like a roller coaster does; it was just flying from one end to the other above the beautiful, clean, and serene Foy’s Lake; we all just went crazy screaming while doing it. While doing the on-ground obstacle course, it looked like we were doing army training, crossing all the obstacles and reaching the end point with all our strength. And while the archery we all felt challenged on marking the arrow on the middle yellow point, everyone was very well concentrated on shooting the arrow on the point; it is a both physical and mental exercise. During the treetop adventure, we felt like a monkey crossing from one part of the tree to another; it brought out everyone’s inner adventurer, and everyone there tried their best and hardest to finish the adventure, but unfortunately many of them failed to do so. Finally, during the kayaking, it was a deeply rewarding and immersive experience, offering a unique connection with nature and a sense of peace in Foy’s Lake. Overall, we all had a great, crazy, and thrilling experience in the basecamp. After finishing all the activities by 5 PM, we went back to the Lake View restaurant to have some appetizing snacks offered by the basecamp. After having snacks and taking some rest, we all said goodbye to the basecamp by 5.30 PM, and then we went to get some rides, and we also had a lot of fun while on the rides too. We were all screaming very loudly, even if we were not scared, just out of excitement and fun. We did a total of 2 rides: Pirate Ship and Family Roller Coaster. Now if I talk about the place, I would love to say that it had a great ambiance, serene nature, and a picture-friendly place for sure. The beauty of nature just amazed all of us. Finally, we left Foy’s Lake and started for school at nearly 6:45 pm, having a big blast of noises and everyone talking with tired bodies in the bus. We finally reached school by 7:15 pm. That was an amazing journey to reminisce.
