On June 16, 2023, students of grades VIII-X embarked on an exciting tour for ‘Silver level’ participants to Sylhet. It was a three-night and four-days program with 23 participants and four award leaders. Our renowned Principal Mr. Gyanesh Chandra Tripathi and Section Coordinator Ms. Mukti Chowdhury, together with respected award leaders, officially launched the trip on June 15, 2023 in the school campus. During the inauguration, the participants were given t-shirts. Manika Dhar (Assistant Section Coordinator), Sattanjoy Banik (Duke Convener & Activity Coordinator), Rezaul Karim (GLC & HOD of Mathematics) and Shimul Barua (Sports Teacher) accompanied and supervised the students.
As a part of Duke of Edinburgh’s worldwide award criteria, the participants proceeded on an adventure expedition to Sylhet on June 16th, 2023. On Friday, all participants met at Chittagong Railway Station at 6.20 a.m. and the train left for Sylhet at 7 a.m.
The following day, the participants went to Ratargul Swamp Forest, Bholaganj Shada Pathor, and Jaflong. They participated in a variety of activities such as boating, football, and mountain climbing. On June 18th, the participants went to Madhabpur Lake, Lawachara National Park, and BTIR. There, the participants engaged in team building activities as well as forest and mountain treks.
The team boarded the train from Sylhet at 10.15 a.m. and arrived Chittagong about 8 a.m. on June 19, 2023.
Overall, ‘The Duke Trip’ was a huge success. During this adventure, participants had a lot of fun and gained a lot of experience. The Duke Adventurous Journey 2023 in Sylhet is one of the most amazing vacations that students will remember and treasure for the rest of their lives.
