The National Curriculum Senior Section of CIDER International School organized a meaningful community service activity for students of grades VIII to X as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program. This event took place outside the school campus, specifically in the area from the turning of Technical College to Ruby Gate. Students engaged directly with local rickshaw pullers, beggars, and day laborers, providing them with essential items such as mineral water, saline, biscuits, and bananas. This initiative aimed to support these hardworking individuals, especially during high-temperature periods, helping them stay hydrated and nourished.
The experience proved to be highly educational and impactful for the students. They gained firsthand insights into the daily lives and challenges faced by these workers, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy for their conditions. The students performed their tasks with dedication and seriousness, demonstrating commendable community spirit. Overall, the event was a success, offering valuable lessons and new perspectives to the participating students. The school is extremely proud of their efforts and the positive attitude they displayed throughout the community service activity.
