“The Adventurous Journey” provides students with the opportunity to learn more about the wider environment, as well as to develop their self-confidence, team work and health. On 8th December 2017, we started our long anticipated adventurous journey for ‘Gold & Bronze Level’ participants towards Sylhet. It was 3 nights & 4 days programme of 89 participants. Students of grade IX-XII participated in this journey to complete their Bronze and Gold Levels. Students were accompanied and supervised by Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam (Vice Principal) along with a group of senior teachers.

Firstly, on 8th December 2017 at 8:30 pm, students started at 9:45 pm from Chittagong Train Station. At 7:00 am, we reached at Sylhet Railway station. After having breakfast at Hotel Garden Inn, we went to our destination ‘Nazimghar Wilderness Resort at Lalakhal which was 1 hour journey. At around 11:00 am we checked in the resort but students’ adventures on the first day were badly affected by heavy rain. The second day, we had a real adventure because we went to “BICHNAKANDI” by local boat after completing 160 km journey through narrow and bumpy roads. Everybody was exhilarated seeing the natural splendor of ‘Bichnakandi’. After having breakfast at ‘CITRUS RESEARCH CENTRE’ at Joyantapur, we returned to resort at 7:00 pm. There was an exciting BBQ night on 10th December.

Third day was a hectic day for all because students were busy in different activities like badminton, trekking, hiking, boating and kayaking at Nazimghar Resort. Especially, they enjoyed Kayaking very much in the Lalakhal natural lake.

After checking out the resort and having had lunch we went to “HAZRAT SHAHJALAL MAJAR” for Ziarat.

At 9:40 pm, we started our train journey from Sylhet and reached Chittagong safely at 5:30 am on 11th December 2017.

Overall ‘The Duke Trip’ was a great success. Ciderians had abundance of fun and experience during this journey. The Duke Adventurous Journey 2017 in Sylhet is one of the most memorable trips that students will be able to look back on and cherish forever.
