The much-anticipated Science and IT Fest 2023-24, organized by CIDER International School, unfolded from September 24th to 27th, captivating participants and spectators alike. The event served as a platform for young minds to showcase their prowess in the fields of science and information technology.

The fest commenced with a spirited Programming Contest on September 24th, where students from grades 6 to 12 participated, showcasing their coding proficiency and problem-solving skills. The contest provided a platform for learning experience.

On September 25th, the Inter House Science Quiz Competition ignited the competitive spirit among students. Participants from four houses – UNICORN, DRAGON, PHOENIX, and GRIFFIN – displayed their depth of knowledge across various scientific domains.

The fest culminated on September 27th with an inaugural speech from the Principal, Mr. G.C. Tripathi. Then the students witnessed two captivating events: the RUBIK’s Cube Competition and the Science Fair. The Cube Competition witnessed dexterous fingers maneuvering the iconic puzzle, displaying remarkable skills and determination. Simultaneously, the Science Fair featured an impressive display of 54 projects, exemplifying the students’ creativity, research acumen, and commitment to scientific inquiry.

The culmination day was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Mohammed Nasim Hasan, the eminent Dean of the Faculty of Science and esteemed Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Chittagong. His presence was an air of inspiration, motivating students to strive for academic excellence and innovation.

The fest was privileged to have a distinguished panel of judges, whose expertise and discernment contributed immensely to the evaluation process. The esteemed judges included: Dr. Shahida Akhter, Professor, Department of Physics, University of Chittagong, Dr. Mohammad Razuanul Hoque, Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Chittagong and Mr. Tapas Kanti Dey, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Government City College.

Among the notable presence were Dr. Robiul Husain, the esteemed Founder Chairman of the Board of Management at CIDER, and the respected Vice Principal of Junior School, Ms. Neeti Tripathi.

To commend the exceptional achievements of the participants, awards and certificates were conferred upon winners of various competitions, as well as for the best projects from each class. This recognition not only celebrates their accomplishments but also encourages them to continue their pursuit of excellence in the field of science and IT.

The session concluded with a gracious vote of thanks from Mr. Pranesh Ranjan Das, Section Head, Cambridge Curriculum, expressing gratitude to all participants, judges, guests, and organizers for making the event a resounding success.
