CIDER Cambridge Primary School recently held a fantastic event – the SAARC Summit 2025. The event kicked off with an interesting panel discussion led by Grade 5 student, Rumaisa Ikram. Eight parents participated in the panel, each representing one of the eight countries in the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) region.
After the panel discussion, students from Grades 3 to 5 showcased the rich culture of each country through various performances. The students impressed everyone with dances, songs, fashion shows, and even dramas, giving a lively display of the unique traditions of each nation.
To make the event even more exciting, there were eight stalls representing each country. These stalls featured food, heritage items, special features, and lots of interesting information about the countries. The school’s Senior Management Team (SMT) members visited the stalls to judge the best display. After much deliberation, the team from Afghanistan was crowned the winner!
The event took place in the LMR Hall, and many parents came to support the students. It was an amazing programme that not only highlighted the importance of SAARC but also gave everyone an opportunity to learn more about the cultures and traditions of South Asia.
It was truly a memorable event for everyone involved, and the students and parents had a great time celebrating the diversity of the SAARC nations!
