The much sought-after event of the year ‘The Annual Athletic Meet’ of the CIDER International School was consummated at the picturesque ground of the school on the 16th December, 2018. It was day coinciding with the ‘Victory Day’ where a grateful nation remembered solemnly its war heroes and  the martyrs for whom we breath the air of freedom today. On behalf of CIDER International School, we payed glowing homage  to the memory of three million people whose supreme sacrifice allowed us to have our own land where we can decide our destiny.

 Two superstars of team Bangladesh, namely, Md. Ashraful, and Md. Aftab Ahmed graced the occasion which added colour to the show. We also had among us our honourable Chairman of the board of management Mr. Nader Khan, Founder Chariperson Dr. Rabiul Husain, Mr. G. C. Tripathi, Principal of CIDER International School and Mrs. Neeti Tripathi, Vice-Principal of Junior Section.

An air of festivity was prevailing all over the school as the ground was decorated befittingly keeping with the spirit of the occasion . A stage sat right at the centre of the field and arrangement was made for the accommodation of the guardians and guests to sit on the other side . The programme commenced with the singing of the national anthem where all present on the field sang it in unison.

Then, the Principal delivered his speech to welcome the guests and felicitated  them in typical CIDERian fashion. Later, a group of pigeons, a symbol of peace, were released to mark the beginning of the programme. Subsequently, the Principal inspected the houses who turned  out  smartly  donning  their  spick  and  span  house uniforms .

Next, came the most important moment where the house captains of the  defending Champion Unicorn marched around the ground and kindled the torch  inspired by the glorious tradition of the Olympic Games.

Following this, the students of the entire school put on an attractive P. T. display. The honourable Principal conducted the oath of sports. Then, speeches were delivered by the Principal and the Chairman.  Finally , the final of Annual Sports started and prizes were distributed  among the winners by the honourable guests as the events continued. Then on the basis of aggregate marks,  Phoenix was declared as  the Champion house of the year . An ear-deafening scream of euphoria ensued the moment it was declared. The trophy of the champion was handed over to the Head boy by the honourable chief guests who then took a lap of honour around the field amidst clamourous applause of the audience. At long last, the event was rounded off with a marathon photo session.
