“Good touch makes you feel safe; bad touch makes you feel afraid—trust your feelings!”

An awareness session on “Good Touch & Bad Touch” was conducted in LMR Hall at CIDER International School on 12th February,2025. A total of 48 students from grade 2 to grade 5 from NC Primary participated in the session.

The session aimed at educating students on good and bad human touch and establishing personal boundaries. It began with a role-play by the teachers. Further the concept of touch, types of touch, gestures of good touch and bad touch was described briefly using relatable examples like high-fives, hugs, and handshakes for the audience. Students learned about good touches that make them feel safe and happy, followed by a discussion on bad touches, such as unwanted hugs or inappropriate contact, which can make them feel uncomfortable.

The final part of the session introduced “Safe Circle” to the students so that students can identify the people and seek assistance if needed. It also emphasized the importance of setting personal boundaries, consent, and the necessity of saying “No” when feeling unsafe.

A related video was played for the audience where they learned the key safety rules like— “My body, my rules,” “Raise your voice,” and “Tell a trusted responsible adult”.

Concluding with a short quiz segment, the session was reinforced with an engaging activity and wholesome participation of the students ensuring that the students grasped the essential lessons in a clear and interactive manner.

“Bravery is not the absence of fear but the ability to speak up despite it.”
