The love of reading was joyfully celebrated in our recent Readers Club session for Grade KG at CIDER International School, where we follow the Cambridge Curriculum. This heartwarming event brought together parents and students to share the joy of storybooks and build early literacy skills in a fun, interactive setting.
In a cozy classroom atmosphere, parents joined their children in reading a variety of age-appropriate books in both English and Bangla. The session encouraged not only reading comprehension but also emotional bonding, as students listened to stories read by their parents and, in many cases, proudly read along or retold the stories in their own words.
The event served as a reminder of the important role families play in fostering a lifelong love of reading. By making books a shared experience, the Readers Club strengthens students’ language development, imagination, and communication skills—key components of the Cambridge Curriculum implemented at CIDER International School.
Teachers and coordinators observed with pride as students lit up with excitement, asked questions, and made connections between the stories and their own lives. It was a wonderful demonstration of how reading can bring families and the school community closer together.
CIDER International School extends its sincere thanks to all the parents who participated and made this session a meaningful success. We look forward to more moments where the joy of learning is shared hand-in-hand, one story at a time.
