CIDER Cambridge Primary recently observed Global Perspectives Day for Term Two on 8th May with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of Grades One to Five. The day was filled with engaging activities and discussions that helped students explore important global themes. Each grade focused on a different topic related to real-world issues, encouraging students to think critically and develop a sense of global awareness.
Grade One explored the topic The World of Work. The young learners took part in role-play and creative storytelling to understand different professions and their importance in society. Grade Two focused on Family, Friends, Community and Culture. Students shared personal stories, created family trees, and celebrated cultural diversity through dress and food. Grade Three worked on the theme Working with Other Countries. They took part in map activities and wrote letters to imaginary pen pals, learning how countries can cooperate and support each other. Grade Four explored the topic Moving to a New Country. Students discussed what it feels like to move to a new place and created welcome kits for newcomers, highlighting the values of empathy and inclusion. Grade Five worked on Education for All. They created posters, held mock interviews and talked about the importance of equal access to learning opportunities around the world.
At the end of the day, a special award ceremony was held to recognise the efforts of students. Principal Ms Neeti Tripathi handed over Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates to the achievers from each section. The ceremony was filled with pride and joy as students were celebrated for their hard work and creativity.
In Grade One A, Bronze was awarded to Anila Bilkis, Silver to Prachurjha Biswas and Gold to Afraima Arman Waziha. In Grade One B, Bronze went to Jaimun Binta Jashim, Silver to Attab Hasan Asid and Gold to Ismail Hossain. In Grade Two A, Bronze was given to Nusrah Mahveen Manha, Silver to Showdyuty Bhowmick and Gold to Wajiha Tasnim Manha. In Grade Two B, Bronze was received by Md Faraj Hossen Chowdhury, Silver by Pratyusha Das Gupta and Gold by Mohammed Uzaiyr Bin Raihan Imad. Grade Three A saw Bronze awarded to Alayna Mashiyat, Silver to Himalay Sharvin and Gold to Sharaful Wasi. In Grade Three B, Bronze was earned by Hrudaya Dey Ruhi, Silver by Dibyadyuti Dey and Gold by Niladri Deb Nath. Grade Four A recipients were Saraswata Mallick for Bronze, Adrita Das for Silver and Shamama Hoque for Gold. In Grade Four B, Bronze was given to Ryan Biswas, Silver to Nusaibah Rahman Adiba and Gold to Alveena Ashraf Ayra. Grade Five A awards went to Shuvadra Ghosh for Bronze, Fagun Barua for Silver and Tashreef Tajwar Adeeb for Gold. In Grade Five B, Bronze was awarded to Burhan Uddin, Silver to Adiba Salsabil and Gold to Purnota Barua.
The day ended with a gallery walk where students proudly presented their work to teachers, peers and parents. It was a wonderful occasion that reflected the creativity, curiosity and teamwork of all involved. Global Perspectives Day continues to be an important event that encourages students to become thoughtful and responsible global citizens. The school looks forward to many more successful events like this in the future.
