The Bronze and Silver Certificate Conferral Ceremony under ‘The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award’ was held on 22.08.2017 for the first at LMR Hall in the Cider International School, Chittagong. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognized award which opens an opportunity to the youth of aged group 14-24 to discover their hidden abilities and to gain a special sense of satisfaction and achievement. This year Bronze and Silver Award went to 85 students of Cider International School. The students who successfully accomplished all the required activities were awarded. Earlier on 22nd August 2017, the awardee had to face a validation committee where they were evaluated to be selected for the award.
Ms. Shamim Ara, Head of English hosted the ceremony which was lively with the presence of Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, Honorary Secretary, Board of Trustee, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, graced the Award Ceremony as Chief Guest, Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq, Honorary Chairman, Executive Committee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, as Guest of Honour and Prof. Dr. Khondaker Mohammad Shariful Huda, National Director, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, as Special Guest. The presence of Mr. Nadeer Khan, Honorary Chairman, Board of Trustee, ‘CIDER’ lightened the ‘Award programme’.
Besides the awardee, Mr. G. C. Triphati, Honorable Principal, Mr. Khalid Sahrior, Assistant Manager, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, Mr. Jahangir Alam, Vice Principal, Cambridge senior Section, Ms. Neeti Tripathi, Vice Principal Junior school, award coordinator, all award leaders of both Cambridge and National Curriculum sections were present this grant event.
After welcome speech delivered by Honarable Principal, a nice PowerPoint projection on the duke activities done by our students in 2016-17 session, was projected.
Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq handed over the certificates to the Silver Awardees and Bronze Awardees,
Mr. Nadeer Khan and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq handed over the Crest to all Award leaders and Award coordinator respectively.
On behalf of Cider Community, Mr. Nadeer Khan, Honorary Chairman, Board of Trustee, ‘CIDER’ handed over the crests to Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq and Prof. Dr. Khondaker Mohammad Shariful Huda.
Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani raised his satisfaction over it and wished the awardees for their further betterment.
Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq, Prof. Dr. Khondaker Mohammad Shariful Huda and Mr. Nadeer Khan covered their speech and wished great success of the awardees, award leaders and award coordinator.
The National Director, Prof. Dr. Khondaker Mohammad Shariful Huda unveiled future plans of The DEA Foundation Bangladesh chapter and encouraged the awardees to be more responsive and engaged member of the community using their skill and talent for the greater good of the society.
Overall this Certificate Conferral Ceremony was inspiring, impressive and successful. This sort of event will motivate our students for doing the Award for their betterment.
